WA Horse Therapy offers riding and equine lessons with a horse or pony for all ages from 3 years. I pride myself in offering a horse/pony that is safe and secure to ride in an environment where the student can gain confidence being around and, on a horse, gaining the skills to progress to more advanced levels, or one day owning their own horse.
All riding and handling is done under the watchful eye an experienced riding coach, whom has nationally recognized coaching qualifications., working with children checks and current first aid certificates.
Caring and riding a horse can assist with so many aspects of learning and development. It promotes physical health and skills, but also assists in development of social and mental agility helping in the future. Horse riding helps in giving better posture, and in stimulating the hormone called Serotonin. It is a natural mood enhancer which helps lead to being happier and less stressed. Horse riding helps the coordination of the riders, this is why horse riding is suitable for all.
Horse riding helps the rider to focus and think whilst doing more then one skill at one time.
Horses calm riders with autism, allowing them to focus, think and accept training. The desire to ride also allows us to encourage positive behaviors and gently discourage negative behaviors
Improvements include social functioning, physical functioning and overall mental health and behavior. Parents even reported an improved performance at school such as paying more attention in class, keeping up with schoolwork and having better school attendance and attitude.
